In feudal Japan or Okinawa did Karate practitioners engage in tournaments?
Did they hold large competitions? What were the rules like? If they did was it organized (quarterfinals, semifinals, finals) or was it just one person competing against another person and it ended there? Did they give any titles to the winner?
